Television reporter spots missing young boy on the roof from helicopter while broadcasting news repo

A TELEVISION reporter spotted a young boy on the roof of his parent's house from inside a helicopter while broadcasting a live news report on the child's disappearance.

Angel Gort, 11, was reported missing from a Florida neighbourhood at around 10am on Tuesday.

The youngster ran away from home in the Hialeah region after he got upset following a fight with his mum about not wanting to go to camp, WSVN has reported.

The helicopter was flying over the family home shortly after 12pm as police were seen with bloodhounds searching the area.

Reporter Ralph Rayburn, who was inside the helicopter, then spotted Angel.

He told Inside Edition that his first thought was disbelief.

Mr Rayburn said: "Am I seeing what I'm seeing? OK, is that him? That's the kid, on the roof.

"That's the kid."

After he was found, Angel said he wasn't "really sure" what he was thinking when he decided to run away.

His family said they were relieved Angel was back home safely.
